ENGINEER, SENIOR (PRODUCT ENGINEERING) in Canada 
STATUS: Full Time/Permanent

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a member of our Product  Engineering Team, you will play a key role in identifying and driving on-market product performance improvements, including cartridge design changes and manufacturing process capability by leading cross-functional teams to solve problems and to identify, measure and control critical-to-quality attributes.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide technical leadership to scope, plan and execute development, verification, and implementation of product performance improvements, including design changes and manufacturing process changes.
  • Develop efficient execution strategies for complex tasks, communicate clearly and build team consensus.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in product performance and manufacturing processes and actively use this to manage risk.
  • Gather and analyze data, create and execute experimental and verification strategies to develop and demonstrate high process capability and product performance.
  • Prioritize problems and lead/ participate in investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Consistently apply Quality Systems requirements and procedures.
  • Mentor other engineers, modeling and encouraging creativity, innovation, data-driven decision-making and careful use of the scientific method.
  • Maintain contact with managers and group members of related process engineering areas, including manufacturing, research and development, quality assurance and test.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest technical developments in related areas, assess and integrate appropriate changes to work practices.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a senior engineering role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering with Mechanical focus, or equivalent.
  • Ability to design experiments, analyze and interpret data, and document conclusions.
  • Analytical skills, creativity and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to determine required analysis to make practical, objective decisions about the best solutions to problems.
  • Coordinating and planning skills, leadership and team skills, ability to convert strategy into results.
  • Very strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; able to deal effectively with people on all organizational levels and work in a team environment across departments.
  • Propensity to continuous learning and experimentation.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred.
